But one of his most recent was "Campus Rivals," which he wrote, co-produced, and starred in. It's the story of a college student having an affair with the president of a fraternity while dealing with her boyfriend's drama.
Santa Cruz had a Vertical Drama Love interview on June 11, 2025, with Eric Guilmette to talk about it. The idea for this project came from watching teen dramas, like those on the CW. "There weren't very many of those for verticals, so I thought it'd be a very exciting change while still fitting the vertical format," he shared.
The actor continued, "The story I wanted to tell, I wanted to tell a romance, but obviously, since it's vertical, it had to be a little bit dramatic. So I thought a love triangle would be the best way to go about it."
This was Santa Cruz and Guilmette's first micro-drama together, but they had met at social occasions before.
