'American Sniper: The Last Round': Cast, Characters, and Everything You Need to Know

A legendary sniper trades his rifle for a mop — until the people he's sworn to protect are put in danger. The 'American Sniper: The Last Round' cast brings the action vertical drama to life in one of ReelShort's most talked-about releases.

"American Sniper: The Last Round" centers on Carl Oliver, a decorated military sniper known throughout the country as the King of Guns. His reputation was built on an extraordinary record: a confirmed kill shot fired at over 4,000 meters, the longest range in history.

But the mission that made Carl a legend also broke him. He and his partner Lewis Valentine were deep in the field in Amsterdam, monitoring a terrorist group, when Carl made the record-breaking shot.

The success came at a price: their position was exposed, and Lewis was killed by a sniper's bullet before they could get out. It was Lewis's final mission — he had been days away from retirement, with a daughter and grandchild waiting for him at home.

While the country celebrated Carl as a hero, Carl blamed himself. When the White House prepared to honor him with a Medal of Honor, Carl was nowhere to be found. He had disappeared quietly, leaving fame and his identity behind.

He resurfaced in a remote town, at the Valentine Shooting Range — the land Lewis had told him about, where Lewis's daughter Jane lived with her own daughter. Honoring a private promise to look after them, Carl took a job there as a handyman, keeping his past buried. To everyone at the range, he was just the guy who cleaned the guns.

His cover held — until trouble arrived from multiple directions at once.

Jane's ex-husband Benny Burton, a B-class sharpshooter with a gambling addiction, showed up demanding money and using their daughter Rebecca as leverage. Carl stepped in, and Benny challenged him to an assembly contest — not knowing who he was dealing with.

A bigger threat came from Matthew Valentine, Jane's uncle, who had bought the bank financing the shooting range and was using that power to force Jane into selling it.

To settle the dispute, Matthew proposed a sharpshooting competition. His team included some of the world's top professionals, among them Nate Foster, a one-eyed cowboy and trap shooting specialist who could finish a round in under 20 seconds, and Rachel Fisher, known as the Black Widow. Jane, against all expectations, chose her handyman.

Carl stepped up and did not disappoint. He blindfolded himself, called his shot in advance, and beat Nate Foster without breaking a sweat. One by one, he worked through Matthew's elite lineup, reclaiming the range for Jane.

But winning the competition brought its own consequences. Carl's signature technique drew attention from The One, a network of top assassins, who soon came after Jane and Rebecca. With the people he had quietly come to care for now in direct danger, Carl stopped hiding. The King of Guns announced his return — for one last round.

Marc Herrmann plays Carl Oliver, the American Sniper at the center of the story. Carl is a man carrying an enormous weight: the guilt of a mission gone wrong, a promise to a dead friend, and a legendary identity he has spent a year trying to bury.

Herrmann was born on April 12, 1993, in San Diego. He is an actor, writer, and director with over 55 acting credits to his name and four director credits on IMDb.

He has received four award nominations total. His vertical drama work includes "Love Is a Dangerous Dance" (2025), where he played Jack "The Viper" Hargrove, and "Undercover Prison King" (2025), where he played Troy Poe. He also wrote and directed short films during the pandemic, including "True Love," which was accepted into the Los Angeles Short Film Festival.

Addison Bowman as Jane Valentine

Addison Bowman plays Jane Valentine, the owner of the Valentine Shooting Range and Lewis Valentine's daughter. Jane is running her late father's business on her own, raising her daughter Rebecca as a single mother after a difficult divorce, and now facing a hostile takeover from her own uncle.

Bowman is a Los Angeles-based performer with roots in theater, film, and television. She trained at Broadway Artist's Alliance in New York and was named the 2013 National Youth Arts Junior Artist of the Year. Her theater credits include Fantine in "Les Misérables," Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde," and Fiona in "Shrek the Musical."

On the television side, she has appeared in "Outer Range" (2022), "Obliterated" (2023), "Ransom Canyon" (2025), and "The Cleaning Lady" (2025). She also has one IMDb win to her credit.

McClafferty stands 6'4" and earned a Bachelor's degree in business from the University of Delaware in 2021 before returning to his hometown of Valencia, California, to pursue acting. He trained at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

He is known in the vertical drama space for his alpha and billionaire roles, and has built an extensive filmography under both his stage name and legal name. Morales is an actor and former professional dancer based in Los Angeles, originally from Texas. He was a featured performer in "Magic Mike Live" and appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in connection with that production. He has also shared the stage with Beyoncé and Mariah Carey during his decade-long dance career.

His work includes "Fight Dirty" (2026) and "I Am Bloody Mary" (2025), and his short film work earned a spot in the LA Shorts International Film Festival.
