Ji Chang Wook's girlfriend has long been a subject of speculation, as the actor is famously private about his relationships. While his career flourishes with acclaimed dramas and upcoming projects, his personal life continues to keep fans guessing.

In 2020, he opened up about being in a relationship on the JTBC show "Knowing Brothers." When asked what love meant to him, he answered, "For me, love is something that makes me happy."

The host, Min Kyung-hoon, pressed further, asking how he behaved when dating. Ji Chang Wook candidly replied, "I'm very honest about my feelings, so I'm not good at playing hard to get."

He added, "I'm actually not good at asking someone out at all. I'm always too afraid that I'll get rejected." At that point, Min Kyung-hoon implied that a man like Ji Chang Wook couldn't possibly get dumped.

The actor laughed and responded, "Of course I get dumped. There definitely were times when I got dumped in the past." Since the audience gasped, Ji Chang Wook explained, "As I'm dating someone, I sometimes get too attached and become quite clingy. I think that causes problems and makes both of us tired. Then, my relationship would eventually come to an end because of it."

Ji Chang Wook Girlfriend Hint in 2024

In 2024, Ji Chang Wook's good friend, Lim Ji Yeon, dropped a hint about the actor's relationship status. After years of keeping fans guessing, a playful moment occurred on Shin Dong Youp's YouTube channel "Zzanbro."

On August 12, 2024, Ji Chang Wook and Lim Ji Yeon were promoting their film, "Revolver." Throughout the interview, they engaged in lighthearted banter.

Shin Dong Youp brought up Ji Chang Wook's dating life, praising him for avoiding public scandals. The actor responded with humor, saying he preferred "dating quietly and breaking up quietly," rather than having the world know about his private affairs.

Lim Ji Yeon, with a mischievous smile, teased that she knew some details about his relationships but chose not to reveal them. Her comments hinted that Ji Chang Wook was indeed seeing someone — likely a fellow actor she respected.

"I respect him because we're both actors. I respect his romance... how can women leave him alone when he is this handsome?" she teased.

Their playful exchange drew laughter, with the host even remarking that Lim Ji Yeon briefly resembled her notorious "The Glory" character, Park Yeon Jin. Ji Chang Wook retaliated in good fun by blurting out the name of Lim Ji Yeon's real-life boyfriend, Lee Do Hyun, adding to the cheerful atmosphere.

Their film "Revolver" had premiered in South Korean theaters on August 7, 2024.

Ji Chang Wook's Upcoming Projects in 2025

The year 2025 marks another big chapter in Ji Chang Wook's career, as Disney+ prepares for his action-packed return in the thriller "The Manipulated," where he stars alongside Doh Kyung Soo.

The drama is slated for release before the year ends. The story follows Tae Joong (Ji Chang Wook), a seemingly ordinary man whose life takes a dark turn after being falsely accused and imprisoned for a brutal crime. The shocking twist is that his downfall was meticulously orchestrated by none other than Yo Han.

In addition to this action thriller, Ji Chang Wook is also set to star in a romantic drama with Son Ye-jin and Nana. The upcoming K-drama explores risqué relationships during South Korea's Joseon dynasty and will be produced by Netflix.

The series is adapted from the 2003 film "Untold Scandal," which itself reimagined the French novel "Dangerous Liaisons" by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos within the context of the Joseon era. At that time, love and desire were taboo. The show depicts how characters dared to challenge society's rigid restrictions.

Son Ye-jin, best known for "Crash Landing on You," plays Lady Cho, a woman who defies the limitations placed on women. She proposes a dangerous game of temptation to her admirer, Cho Won, played by Ji Chang Wook.

K-pop star turned actress Nana portrays Hui-yeon, a widow who vowed to remain chaste but becomes drawn to Cho Won, Joseon's notorious playboy — completing the love triangle.

Netflix has not yet released a streaming date, but the working title for the drama is "Scandals."

Ji Chang Wook's Private Life and Girlfriend Speculations

It has now been five years since Ji Chang Wook last spoke openly about his relationships, and despite Lim Ji Yeon's playful hints, he has continued to keep a very low profile. At 38, fans see much of him through his projects, but little is known about Ji Chang Wook's girlfriend — if he has one.

Widely regarded as K-drama's "King of Action," his most memorable works include "Healer," "Love in the City," "Welcome to Samdal-ri," and "The Sound of Magic."

His performances have captured the hearts of viewers, showcasing a versatility that not all actors can pull off.
