From Ukraine to Vertical Drama Stardom: Inside Volodymyr Pielikh's Fast-Rising Career
The Ukrainian actor has quickly built a steady stream of roles while balancing acting with modeling, visual art, and long-term creative ambitions beyond the vertical screen.
Volodymyr Pielikh’s rise in vertical dramas has happened quickly, but his path into acting stretches far beyond the genre itself. Before audiences started recognizing him across romance, revenge, and mafia-centered vertical series, he had already built a life shaped by international travel, modeling, language learning, and eventually a move from Ukraine to Los Angeles.

Now, with a growing list of lead roles across multiple vertical drama apps, Pielikh is becoming one of the more recognizable newer actors in the space—while also openly talking about where he hopes the format can evolve next.
From Ukraine to Los Angeles
Pielikh was born and raised in Ukraine before eventually relocating to the United States, where he is now based in Los Angeles. Alongside acting, he also worked extensively as a model, something that helped him travel internationally and experience different cultures firsthand..
That global background still shapes the way he approaches both life and acting today.
In interviews, Pielikh has spoken openly about maintaining a strong connection to his Ukrainian roots, especially during the ongoing war in Ukraine. He has also encouraged people outside the country to continue supporting humanitarian organizations and aid efforts connected to Ukraine.
At the same time, he’s continued building a career in entertainment while adapting to a completely different industry and language environment in the United States.

After moving to Los Angeles in 2021, Pielikh studied both theatrical and on-camera acting before eventually booking vertical dramas, short films, and pilots.
During an interview, he explained that part of his training focused not just on performance, but also on the technical side of working on camera, including blocking, hitting marks, and learning how to work efficiently on set.
Pielikh also speaks five languages: Ukrainian, Russian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and much of his language learning came naturally through years of traveling and living in different parts of the world
Building Momentum in Vertical Dramas
Over the past two years, Pielikh’s vertical drama résumé has expanded rapidly.
His credits now include titles such as "Thread of Fate," "Pay Your Rent with Love," "The Return of the Mafia Queen," "CEO’s Ex-Wife Is the Billionaire Heiress," "The Alpha’s Virgin Captive," "Desperate Housewife’s Stunning Comeback," "Ballerina Reborn for Revenge," and "My Wife Never Knew Who I Was."

More recent projects include "Seducing My Sister’s Ruthless CEO Husband," "The Summer I Turned My Sexiest," "My Obsessive Mafia Husband," and "Boss, She Said No Again."
A lot of these stories lean heavily into the fast-paced emotional style that defines vertical dramas—billionaire romances, revenge plots, possessive love interests, hidden identities, and mafia conflicts. But Pielikh has also been vocal about wanting the genre to grow beyond those formulas.
During a 2025 interview, he explained that he hopes vertical storytelling eventually opens up to more genres, particularly grounded dramas and comedies that allow actors to explore a wider emotional range.
“I like raw and emotional,” he said.

He also mentioned enjoying villain roles because they allow for more emotional complexity compared to some of the more straightforward romantic leads common in the genre. He explained that he tried to make one particularly dark character feel “more humane” and emotionally believable rather than simply evil.
Pielikh’s also admitted that comedy is the genre he would most love to explore in the future, describing it as one of the hardest but most rewarding forms of performance.
Learning Through the Fast Pace of Verticals
Like many actors working in vertical storytelling, Pielikh has had to adjust to extremely fast production schedules and unconventional filming structures.
He spoke about how scenes are often filmed out of sequence, making it important for actors to constantly track emotional continuity and character development while working quickly.

Rather than avoiding his own performances afterward, Pielikh says he actively watches his projects back to study his choices and continue improving as an actor.
“This is how you learn,” he explained.
He’s also become increasingly interested in physically demanding scenes and stunt-related training. While he doesn’t come from a martial arts background, he said working on vertical dramas and short films introduced him to stunt coordinators and action choreography, something he now wants to continue studying further.
More Than Just a Vertical Drama Actor
Outside acting, Pielikh also maintains an active art account where he shares paintings, digital drawings, and sculpting projects, reflecting his broader interest in creative work beyond acting.
That creative mindset also shapes the way he talks about performance. In interviews, he has described acting as a creative outlet that continues to challenge and motivate him.
