From playing Priscilla Presley on stage to leading ReelShort romances, Lexi Angel has brought her musical theatre training into a new medium. Here's how the performer made the transition from stage to screen.

Vertical drama audiences may know Lexi Angel from series such as "In Love With a Single Farmer Daddy," "His Dumped Wife Is a Queen," and "Never Divorce a Billionaire Wife."

Before becoming a familiar face in the genre, however, Angel built her foundation in musical theatre, spending years training as a singer, dancer, and actor before making the transition to screen roles.

Growing Up With a Passion for Performance

Originally from Parkland, Florida, Angel has long been drawn to storytelling through performance. On her personal website, she describes having "an undeniable mission to bring compelling human stories to the stage and screen."

That passion led her to pursue formal training in musical theatre at Ball State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. During her studies, she trained with industry professionals, including Rachel Hoffman, Sutton Foster, Michael Rafter, and Sierra Boggess.

In addition to acting, Angel developed skills in singing and dance, training in areas ranging from opera and cabaret to tap dance and musical theatre performance.

Building a Foundation on Stage

Before appearing in vertical dramas, Angel's résumé was largely rooted in theatre.

Among her notable stage credits is playing Priscilla Presley in "ELVIS: A Musical Revolution" at the Springer Opera House. She also performed as Little Red in "Into the Woods," Anne in "A Little Night Music," Adela in "House of Bernarda Alba," and Extraordinary Girl in "American Idiot."

Her background as a soprano vocalist also opened opportunities beyond traditional theatre productions. According to her résumé, she has performed in concerts and workshops, including appearances as a soloist in "Bound for Broadway" and at New York City's renowned venue 54 Below.

This combination of acting, singing, and dancing helped shape the performance skills she would later bring to on-screen work.

Transitioning to Vertical Dramas

By 2025, Angel had begun establishing herself in the rapidly growing world of vertical dramas.

One of her earliest screen roles was Ellie in "His Dumped Wife Is a Queen," a character whose manipulation and deception create conflict throughout the story.

She followed that with appearances in projects such as "My Escort Boy Is a Billionaire," "Don't Hurt Me Daddy, Mommy's Leaving," "Never Divorce a Billionaire Wife," and "After He Left Earth, Two Fiancées Regretted."

Many of these early roles placed Angel in supporting or antagonistic positions, often portraying characters who complicated the journeys of the main protagonists.

Her career took a significant step forward when she landed the lead role of Natalie Smith in ReelShort's "In Love With a Single Farmer Daddy."

The series follows Natalie, a woman who leaves behind a toxic family environment and unexpectedly finds love with a man everyone believes to be an ordinary farmer. As the story unfolds, she discovers there is far more to him than meets the eye.

The role offered Angel an opportunity to play a resilient and sympathetic heroine, a contrast to some of the more scheming characters she had portrayed previously.

Finding an Audience Through Vertical Storytelling

The success of "In Love With a Single Farmer Daddy" helped introduce Angel to a wider audience within the vertical drama community.

In a February 2026 Instagram post, she expressed gratitude after learning the series remained among ReelShort's Top 10 titles. Sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the production, she thanked viewers for their support and enthusiasm for the story.

A few months later, Angel reflected on her growing involvement in the genre while sharing behind-the-scenes photos from additional productions.

"1 month of verticals in LA, now that I'm officially a local and couldn't be more happy to do what I love on these larger than life stories," she wrote in May 2026. She added that she was grateful for the people she works with and for the audiences who continue to support her projects.

A Growing Screen Career

Angel's screen résumé has continued to expand throughout 2025 and 2026.

Her credits now include "The Mafia Boss's Regret," "Flee to the Ruthless Mafia Boss," "Cleaning His Mansion, Catching His Heart," "Oops I Married My Daughter's Daddy," "Pregnant by My Professor, Chased by His Son," and "His Cure, His Wife."

At the same time, she continues to invest in her craft. According to her website, Angel currently trains under acting coach Faline England at Diana Castle's The Imagined Life Studio in Los Angeles.

The move to Los Angeles marks another step in her evolution from theatre performer to screen actor as she continues building a career across multiple forms of entertainment.

From Stage to Screen

While many viewers know Lexi Angel through her vertical drama roles, her journey began long before she stepped in front of a camera. Years of musical theatre training, stage performances, vocal study, and dance instruction helped shape the performer audiences see today.

As her screen career continues to grow, Angel's path reflects a natural progression from the stage productions where she first developed her skills to the vertical dramas that have introduced her to a new generation of viewers.
