Sophia Delucchi went from a viral sensation on TikTok to a leading lady in micro-dramas, but she's so much more than that.

Like many actors in the genre, Sophia Delucchi didn't know anything about vertical dramas until her first audition. But now, she has been in over 20 of them and counting. Let's find out more about her and the one thing people still request from her.

Sophia Delucchi: Her Background

The Los Angeles-based actress got a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from AMDA: College of Performing Arts. But even before that, she grew up taking voice, dance, piano, and acting classes. She was also in the drama club, the show choir, and performed in local productions.

As a result, Delucchi has developed a strong passion for everything related to storytelling, especially sitcoms, which she considers an escape from daily life. She's also bright, funny, an enthusiastic singer, and a generally outgoing person.

Before micro-dramas, Delucchi appeared in several shorts like "The Zenosyne Hotel" and "Work Life." She even played Sally Brown in a production of "A Charlie Brown Christmas Live!" at The Palladium Times Square in New York. But one surprising talent of hers made her go viral: whistling.

During an interview with Canvas Rebel from October 2024, she revealed that, in 2020, one of her TikTok videos got millions of views. In the clip, she whistled "The Final Countdown" from Europe. Although her content has changed to more lifestyle and comedy, some fans still ask her to whistle.

In 2021, like any struggling actor, she worked as a waitress in Los Angeles. As the world opened up after the pandemic, Delucchi continued auditioning while wondering if she would ever finally make it.

Yet, one day, she simply decided to quit her job and focus. It was terrifying, but not long afterward, she booked the lead in a vertical and was needed on set in 12 days.

Sophia Delucchi: Her Vertical Dramas

In the Meet the Creatives section of Vertical Drama Love, Delucchi revealed that she auditioned for several miniseries when they were just starting out. "I had no idea what they were at first. I sort of figured it out while on set, along the way. Ha! I believe my first was in June of '23," she said.

The project was "Star Moon Romance Rejected and Reborn as Alpha." Since then, she has been in many verticals such as "Found by the Lycan King," "Stripper Nanny: Forbidden Romance with Mafia," "Fallen for My Best Friend's Dad," and several others.

While she has been in many, one of her favorites is "Free My Heart" because of the director, Olivia Wang, and the cinematographer, Hammer Geng. She also loved working with the entire staff and production team of Won the Lens, who worked with her again in "How to Train an Alpha."

Some of her other projects include "She's Not Your Fiancée," "My Secret CEO," "Becoming My Ex's Mother-in-Law," "My Exclusive Client," "Don't Fall in Love with Me, Husband," "Love Affair with Ex-Wife," and "Evil Stepmom Survival Guide," which is a huge fan favorite.

"I think the format is ready for more complexity—more nuance, different genres, different types of relationships," she added. "There's this huge opportunity to surprise people with what vertical storytelling can be, and I hope more creators start to lean into that."

Some of Delucchi's other can't-miss shows are "Hubby, Show Me the Money," "Runaway Luna: Claimed by Two," "My Boss Thinks I'm a Boy," "Crossing Lines with My Brother-in-Law," "The Love War Between My CEOs," and a few more. Which one are you watching first?
