Yevhenii Lisnychyi has built a career both behind the microphone and in front of the camera, bringing characters to life through voice acting and vertical dramas alike. Here's a closer look at the Ukrainian actor's path and the roles that continue to shape his career.

Yevhenii Lisnychyi has become a familiar face to fans of vertical dramas, appearing in a growing list of English-language series filmed in Ukraine. But long before stepping into roles ranging from princes and professors to detectives and romantic leads, he was building a parallel career behind the microphone as a voice actor.

Finding Acting in Kyiv

Lisnychyi grew up in a small town and did not initially envision a career in film and television. Looking back, he has said that before moving to Kyiv for university, he did not even know what a film director was.

That changed after he began studying and encountered teachers who inspired him to pursue acting more seriously. The experience opened the door to a profession that would eventually span television, voice acting, and vertical dramas.

Today, Lisnychyi estimates that he has been working as an actor for nearly a decade. Much of that time has been spent in television, although he has made no secret of his ambition to one day expand into feature films.

Building a Career Behind the Microphone

While many viewers know him from his on-screen roles, voice acting has become an equally important part of Lisnychyi's career.

His start in the industry came through a bold move as a student. Interested in dubbing work, he contacted a studio directly and asked whether they needed voice actors. The studio invited him to audition.

By his own account, the audition did not go particularly well.

Yet the studio saw potential in his enthusiasm and determination, giving him an opportunity to continue learning and developing his skills. That decision helped launch a career that would eventually include more than 300 voice-over and dubbing credits across films, television series, and animation projects.

Over the years, his voice has become familiar to Ukrainian audiences through numerous international productions. According to AMO Actors Agency, his extensive dubbing work has made him one of the recognizable voices working in the industry today.

Growing Alongside Vertical Dramas

Lisnychyi's connection to the vertical drama world began before the format exploded in popularity.

He started collaborating with AMO productions around 2020, when the company was producing YouTube mini-dramas rather than vertical series. As the industry evolved, he found himself adapting alongside it.

At first, vertical storytelling felt unfamiliar. The framing, pacing, and performance style differed from traditional productions. Over time, however, both the productions and the actors learned how to work within the format.

Lisnychyi has described the process as a shared evolution, with performers and creators growing together as vertical dramas found audiences around the world.

Bringing Characters to Life

One thing that separates Lisnychyi from many actors is how closely he studies his own work.

Rather than watching only the scenes in which he appears, he prefers to watch entire projects from beginning to end. He sees it as an opportunity to understand the rhythm of a story, evaluate his performance, and continue improving his craft.

That commitment to growth has helped him tackle a wide range of characters in recent years.

One role that stood out was Luca Stone in "My World Ends with You." Lisnychyi described the character as particularly challenging, noting that the project pushed him to explore emotional territory he might not have attempted otherwise. He has credited both director Oleksii Yosha and co-star Tetiana Slavianska with helping bring the story to life.

He is also an avid driver, a skill that has occasionally proven useful in professional projects.

What's Next?

Although Lisnychyi has already built an impressive résumé in television, dubbing, and vertical dramas, he continues to look ahead.

Feature films remain a major goal, and he has spoken about wanting to take on larger projects that challenge him in new ways.

For now, he continues balancing life in front of the camera and behind the microphone, building a career that spans both screen and sound. With a growing list of vertical drama credits and hundreds of voice performances already behind him, Lisnychyi appears determined to keep exploring new opportunities wherever they may lead.
