What Nicole Mattox Said About Playing Nicole Carrington
During the early stages of filming, Mattox shared her thoughts on how unusual yet exciting it was to take on the role.
"I get to play to somebody with my own name, which actually is kinda crazy because when I'm in these crazy circumstances, and people are saying my real name to me, it's different, it's really fun," she said in the ReelShort interview in July 2024.

Aside from Playing Nicole Carrington, She Took on Another Mother Role in a Different Series
Mattox's turn as a mother in "Queen Who Never Cry" isn't her first. She previously played Caroline in "Breaking the Ice," a vertical drama released on July 24, 2025.
The story follows Caroline, who is reunited with her first love, Easton, now a professional hockey player. Caroline carries a secret: Easton is the father of her child, a truth she has hidden for eight years.
Their reunion forces Caroline to decide whether to reveal the past before it's too late. The cast includes Seth Edeen as Easton Black, Ellison Pipe as their daughter Hailey, and James C. Burns as Coach Gorst, all of whom add depth to the emotional story.

Mattox explained her approach, saying she treats young co-stars the same as any other performer by first getting to know them as individuals.
She said, "I try to figure out, like, 'Okay, What are they into? What are they like to do? What is their like active level?' Because I always try to meet my kids on like if there's somebody who needs to be jumping in between every scene so that they can stay still in the scene, you bet I'll be jumping with them in between every scene, and we're gonna make sure that by the time we're ready there the jitters are out and they're ready to go."
However, not all children are the same. Mattox shared that some kids just like to sit, wanting to be cuddled and hugged between scenes.
She also emphasized the importance of connecting with the parents of child actors. Since one parent is usually present during filming, she makes a point to talk with them, learn more about the child's personality, and understand their comfort level.

This kind of bond, according to Mattox, helps her adjust her interactions, making the working relationship smoother and ensuring the child feels supported both on and off camera.
